  Glasgow

The largest city in Scotland, situated on the River Clyde. It owes its growth successively to the tobacco, cotton, iron and steel, and shipbuilding industries. Although these industries are no longer of major significance, Glasgow has remained an important commercial and cultural centre with attractions that include the Glasgow School of Art, the Burrell Collection, Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Provands Lordship (the oldest house in Glasgow) and Glasgow Cathedral.

For Glasgow, please visit Strathclyde.
