Carlisle Racecourse   
Carlisle Racecourse is situated at Blackwell on the outskirts of the historic, Borders city of Carlisle in Cumbria. Set in open countryside, the undulating course provides high quality racing every month of the year staging eleven national hunt meetings from September to April and nine flat meetings between April and August.


Cartmel Priory   
The village of Cartmel, close to Grange-over-Sands, grew up around the twelfth century Priory church which, according to legend, was built between two parallel streams in response to a ’heavenly voice’. Today, Cartmel Priory is one of the finest ecclesiastical buildings in the north of England.


Castlegate House Gallery   
Castlegate House is a commercial gallery specialising in northern and Scottish artists. Sited in a beautiful Georgian House it mounts 8 exhibitions each year and sculpture in the walled secret garden. Open daily 10.30 to 5.00pm, Sundays 2 – 5. Closed Thursdays..

Castlerigg Stone Circle   
Castlerigg Stone Circle, on the outskirts of Keswick, is very easily accessible. For this reason, and also due to its stunning beauty, it’s also the most visited stone circle in Cumbria. Castlerigg is one of the first stone circles to have been built in Britain, dating from around 3000 BC.


Catbells   
Catbells is a Lakeland fell just south of Keswick, popular with walkers. For those interested in the leisurely walk to the summit, you can park at the bottom, at Hawes End, and make your ascent up a hill-path that zigzags steadily upwards.


Claife Heights   
Claife Heights is an area of woodland owned by the National Trust, on the western shores of Windermere. It is a great spot for walking, cycling and wildlife.


Colwith Force   
Colwith Force is, quite simply, a stunning waterfall, and forms part of the Colwith Circle walk.


Conishead Priory   
Conishead Priory is situated on the edge of Ulverston in South Cumbria. A Victorian mansion now stands on the site of the medieval Priory, and it is now a Buddhist centre. Admission is free. A house tour and slide-tape show is available for a small charge..
