Dr. Manning’s Yard
Dr. Manning’s Yard, originally known as Braithwaite’s Yard, was the site of a drysalters and dyestuffs business, started by George Braithwaite in 1713. This contributed to Kendal’s importance in the wool trade. George Braithwaite supplied dyestuffs, alum, fuller’s earth and other technical materials to the local textile trade.

Eden Ostrich World
For a great family day out, come to Ostrich World, a working farm with rare breeds and masses of ostrich. Feed the animals and meet the ostrich chicks.

Eden Ostrich World
Eden Ostrich World is a working farm in the beautiful Eden Valley. The centre is home to many rare breeds of cattle, sheep and pigs as well as a host of other unusual animals. However the most unusual and rare resident by far is Pozee, a Zebra hybrid.

Elter Water
The quiet serenity of Elter Water is the ideal place for contemplation away from the crowds, or for exploring on a day when the clouds have swept in and ruled out ascending to the heights.

Elva Plain Stone Circle
Elva Plain is a small stone circle on the southern slope of Elva Hill near Cockermouth in Cumbria. It’s located in the middle of a field and isn’t easy to find.

Ennerdale Water
Ennerdale Water is the most remote of Cumbria’s western lakes. It is therefore one of the least visited, and provides welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of the Lake District’s busier tourist destinations.

Esk Pike
Esk Pike is an attractive, crag-ridden mountain, dominating the upper reaches of the valley of the River Esk, whose sparkling cataracts and pools offer many opportunities for cooling off after a hot day on the fells.

Ferry Nab
Ferry Nab is situated on the outskirts of Bowness-on-Windermere, on the eastern shore of the lake. It’s from here that you can catch the Windermere Ferry to get to the other side of Windermere, and explore Near and Far Sawrey.

Finsthwaite Tower
Finsthwaite Tower is situated between the small village of Finsthwaite and the slightly larger Newby Bridge. The tower was built to honour the officers, seamen and marines of the Royal Navy who defeated the fleets of France, Spain and Holland in 1799.

Fitz Park
Fitz Park is a beautiful, tranquil park close to the centre of Keswick, offering a variety of activities for all the family. On grass, the park offers lawn tennis, putting and a bowling green, whilst around the park there is an ornamental garden and a sensory garden.
