American Adventure Theme Park   
For the thrill seekers there’s the ‘Skycoaster’ – release the ripcord and fly 200 ft, the largest free fall flights outside the USA. Blast off of ‘The Missile’ with six inversions and a 2.5 G-Force you will experience the sensation of near weightlessness.


Bolsover Castle   
Sitting high on a hillside it is clearly visible from the M1 motorway. The surviving buildings are mainly the work of the Sir William Cavendish from the 1660s. The main surviving features are the Little Castle and the Riding School Range.


Buxton Opera House   
Built in the early 1900s the Opera House was a theatre until converted to a cinema in 1927. It stayed a cinema, except for a few special performances, until the 1970s. It was saved from decline in 1979 and major renovations were completed in 2001.


Calke Abbey   
This baroque mansion, built 1701-3 and set in a stunning landscape park, has become famous as a graphic illustration of the English country house in decline.


Castleton Centre & Museum   
Castleton is blessed with its own state-of-the-art information centre which was opened to the public in April 2004. The building is also home to a museum that is used by Castleton Historical Society to feature a range of exhibitions about local village life through the ages.

Crooked Spire at Chesterfield

Denby Pottery Visitor Centre   
Denby Pottery Visitor Centre – open daily all year round. Free entry and parking, located on B6179, off the A38 north of Derby. Craftroom tours daily including paint a plate and make a frog. Free cookery demonstrations daily in the theatre kitchen of the Cookery Emporium.


Derby Cathedral   
With its story going back to the tenth century, its splendid medieval tower, fascinating historical artefacts including Bess of Hardwick’s monument, the Bakewell Screen, Joseph Wright’s tombstone and much more. Derby Cathedral offers a unique visitor experience.
